A: Chloë offers French classes for pairs as well as small groups.

Q: Do you offer French lessons in person?

A: Yes, Chloë provides French lessons in person. She will travel to a location near your home or office such as a coffee shop or public library where you can meet face-to-face for private instruction.

Q: Do you offer French lessons online?

A: Yes, Chloë offers French lessons online using Zoom, so that you can learn the target language from the comfort and convenience of your own home.

 

Q: How long does it take to achieve fluency in French?

A: There are a variety of factors that influence the rate at which students achieve fluency in French, including but not limited to the particular student's age, developmental ability, level of motivation, and frequency of instruction. Chloë is committed to helping each and every student achieve their learning goals.

Q: Do you assist students who are preparing to take standardized tests in French?

A: Yes, Chloë assists students who are preparing to take standardized tests in French, such as the Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in French Language and Culture, the SAT II Subject Test in French, and the SAT II Subject Test in French with Listening.  

Q: I would like my children to participate in the National French Contest (NFC) / le Grand Concours (GC). Can you help them get ready for this competition?

A: Yes, Chloë can help your children get ready for the National French Contest (NFC) / le Grand Concours (GC), notably the FLES contest for 1st-6th Graders and the Secondary Contest for 7th-12th Graders.

 

Chloë addresses the specific learning objectives for each student's level of communicative competence, and then she designs tailored activities that provide them with targeted practice.

Q: Do you offer French lessons for homeschooled students?

A: Yes, Chloë has experience teaching French to homeschooled students, readily collaborating with parents and guardians to design appropriate language lessons that meet curricular goals.

Q: Do you work with aspiring teachers of French who are seeking certification?

A: Yes, Chloë works with aspiring teachers of French who are seeking certification. For example, she provides review ahead of the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), devised by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Likewise, Chloë offers help to aspiring teachers who are preparing to take the Praxis II Exam in French: World Language.

About Chloë Blake Stevenson

 

Chloë earned an Ed. M. in Foreign Language Education from Rutgers University with Standard Teaching Certification in French (K-12) from the State of New Jersey's Department of Education.

 

Prior to graduate school, Chloë earned a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Reed College. 

 

Chloë teaches French to students of all ages, ranging from classes for beginners through the Advanced Placement (AP) level and beyond. In the past, Chloë worked as a French Teacher at Princeton Charter School, The Lawrenceville School, Rutgers Preparatory School, and Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. Passionate about the learning and teaching process, Chloë is eager to share her love of the French language and culture with her students.
